Tribunal Continues Order-Hot-rolled Carbon Steel Plate from Brazil, Denmark, Indonesia, Italy, Japan and Korea

Ottawa, Ontario, December 17, 2025-The Canadian International Trade Tribunal today continued its order made on March 13, 2020, in expiry review RR-2019-001, concerning the dumping of hot-rolled carbon steel plate from Brazil, Denmark, Indonesia, Italy, Japan and Korea.

The Tribunal found that the expiry of the order was likely to result in injury. As such, the Tribunal continued its order. The Canada Border Services Agency will therefore continue to impose anti-dumping duties on these goods.

The Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial body that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Finance. It hears cases on dumped and subsidized imports, safeguard complaints, complaints about federal government procurement and appeals of customs and excise tax rulings. When requested by the federal government, the Tribunal also provides advice on other economic, trade and tariff matters.
