TANGXIAN, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Tangxian County in north China's Hebei Province is advocating the spirit of Norman Bethune, a Canadian physician who gave his help and life to China.
The county is an old revolutionary base where Bethune lived and worked.
Bethune, a household name in China, led his medical team to China in 1938 to help Chinese people fight Japanese invaders and sacrificed his life in November 1939.
He brought modern medicine to China and treated a lot of sick villagers and wounded soldiers.
