Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson's availability for Sunday's game against the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers remains in question with respect to his injured ribs.

Henderson was removed from the Rams' 27-24 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday in the second half. The third-year running back was replaced by Sony Michel, who rushed 10 times for 46 yards -- all in the fourth quarter.

Michel and rookie Jake Funk, who has yet to carry the ball this season, likely will man the backfield for the Rams (2-0) if Henderson is unable to play against the Buccaneers (2-0).

"It's really a pain tolerance thing. I think it's more of just getting his feedback," Rams coach Sean McVay said Friday of Henderson. "We want to use as much as time as we have. We have contingency plans in place. If that's the case, those other guys will be asked to step up."

Henderson, 24, entered the season as the Rams' top running back after 2020 rookie sensation Cam Akers ruptured his Achilles during training camp, ending his season before he even played a down. Henderson has gotten off to a solid start, averaging over 4.2 yards per carry in each of the Rams' victories and scoring a touchdown in each game.

Henderson has rushed 29 times for 123 yards and caught four passes for 46 yards in two games.
