CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, June 26 (PIA) - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the 16.7 kilometers road rehabilitation project from Cabagan to San Pablo, Isabela.
Wilson Valdez, DPWH - 2 Information Officer, said the road reblocking and repair project of the main road in Isabela is part of the Road Upgrading and Preservation Projects (RUPP) funded by a loan from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Valdez said the road rehabilitation, which covered concrete pavement reblocking of Daang Maharlika's intermittent sections, has been completed.
He said the covered stretch of Daang Maharlika is among the busiest thoroughfares in Isabela and is the main access of motorists going to and from Tuguegarao City and further up north.
Valdez said a 280-millimeter thick PCCP reblocking, including shoulder reformation with reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings component was implemented at the intermittent section.
He added that the road rehabilitation in Isabela was carried out from March 2018 until March 2019 and is under the jurisdiction of the Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Roads Management Cluster (Bilateral) headed by Project Director Virgilio C. Castillo. (ALM/MGE - PIA-2/Isabela)
