OSAKA, Japan: A large fire broke out in a commercial building near Tsutenkaku Tower, a famous tourist spot in Osaka, Japan, on January 21, according to media reports.
NHK Japan reported that the fire started around 5 p.m. on the first floor of a five-story building in the Tsutenkaku Hondori Shopping Street, located in Naniwa Ward, Osaka City.
At least 26 fire trucks and a helicopter were sent to the scene to control the blaze. TV footage showed thick black smoke rising from the building near the tower.
It is not yet known if there were any injuries or casualties.
